Women of F&W Series: Cassandra F.
At what moment did you realize you needed healing —mentally, emotionally, physically, or spiritually, etc.?
When the simple every day tasks seemed too much to bear.
Based on challenges or struggles you were or are facing, how has faith helped you find strength in your healing journey?
I know a higher power has gotten me thus far, through each challenge I believed would break me, and I hold on to that knowledge to get me through each new challenge.
How have wellness practices contributed to your healing journey?
Therapy, working out, listening to my body, and resting without guilt have been the primary wellness practices for me. Therapy has helped clear the clutter in my mind, working out has gotten me out of my head and into my body which has been great practice for when I dissociate, and resting without guilt has been a way for me to heal myself. But also past generations and future generations because that was a luxury my ancestors could not afford and I want my children to know it is okay to just relax.
Share an affirmation, scripture, or words of encouragement for the women navigating their healing journey.
‘Kintsukuroi’ is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold, silver, or platinum. The word translates to "golden repair". It is through the cracks in our lives and ourselves that the light gets in and gets out - embrace the brokenness and walk each day knowing it is what makes you beautifully human.
